The simplest and least costly truck fall restraint option is the conventional lifeline systems. While this option is cost effect it’s not without a lot of risk for the operator. It is easy for the system to snag on fittings on the top of the tanker, pulling the user off-balance and potentially accelerating their fall on to the tanker top. It is common if operators opt for no fall restraint versus the lifeline system. In contrast, if an operator connected to a TRAM did lose their footing while on the tanker top, they will quickly be brought back to a position of safety.
